Set up Google Business Q&A section

20 minutes. Impact: high Effort: low

The Q&A section on your profile lets anyone ask a public question — and anyone can answer, including strangers. Smart owners 'seed' it by posting their own common questions and answering them.

Q&A shows right on your profile at the decision moment, and because the public can answer, an empty section means a competitor or confused stranger might answer for you. Seeding it controls the narrative, kills objections early, and describes what you do clearly and specifically.

How to do it

  1. 1
List your 5–8 most common questions
What people always ask: 'Do you offer free estimates?', 'What areas do you serve?', 'Are you licensed and insured?' These are your seed questions.
  2. 2
Post them from a personal account
From a regular Google account (not the business one), open your profile on Maps and use 'Ask a question' to post each one.
  3. 3
    Answer from your business account
Switch to the owner account and answer each clearly, working in your service and location naturally — 'Yes, free estimates across the Denver metro.'
  4. 4
    Monitor for new questions
Check regularly and answer fast, before a stranger posts a wrong answer that sits there publicly.

How you'll know it's done

Your Q&A has your top questions seeded and clearly answered, and you answer new ones quickly.
