Get credited on the projects you worked on

1 hrImpact: mediumEffort: low

Ask the customers and partners who publish your work (builders, architects, designers, event organisers, schools, other businesses) to name and link you on that page.

It is a genuine, relevant link from someone who knows your work, and it often sits on a page that people planning a similar project read.

How to do it

  1. 1
List recent projects that were published
Think of jobs that ended up on a customer’s website, a portfolio, a case study, a news post or an award entry.
  2. 2
    Find the pages
Search for the project name or the customer’s site. Note pages that show your work without naming or linking you.
  3. 3
    Ask for a credit
A short note: you’re proud of the project, and could they add “Fencing by Your Business” with a link. Make it easy by sending the exact wording and address.
  4. 4
Make it part of finishing a job
Add “ask for a credit if you publish this” to your project wrap-up, so it becomes routine.

Common mistakes

How you will know it is done

The published projects you worked on credit and link your business, and asking is part of how you finish a job.
