Send a personal video message to your 5 best clients asking for a review

1 hour for ~5 clients. Impact: critical Effort: medium

Sending a short, personal video message to your best handful of clients, asking them directly for a review. Not a mass email — you, on camera, speaking to them by name.

A personal video ask is the highest-converting review request there is, because it's the hardest to ignore. Your best clients already love you; a 30-second video that says 'you specifically mean a lot to us, and a review would help enormously' feels personal and flattering, and it converts at rates a mass email never will. Low volume, very high hit rate.

How to do it

  1. 1
Pick your 5 best, happiest clients
Choose the ones with a genuine relationship and a great experience — people who'd be glad to hear from you personally. Quality over quantity; this is a targeted ask.
  2. 2
Record a short, genuine video for each
30–45 seconds, by name: thank them specifically, mention something real about working with them, and ask directly if they'd share a quick review. Phone camera is fine — authenticity beats polish here.
  3. 3
Send it with the direct review link
Text or email the video with your one-tap review link right there, so the path from 'yes' to done is a single step while the goodwill is fresh.
  4. 4
Follow up warmly once if needed
If a few days pass, a light, friendly nudge is fine — but keep it warm, never pushy. These are your best relationships; treat the ask like one.
